Homework Policy:

Students are expected to complete their homework Monday thru Thursday.  Homework given includes Language Arts, Math, and Spelling.  Also, students need to read 20 minutes a night.  Students are given a Reading Log every two weeks and they are expected to write the title of the book, author, number of pages read, a short summary, and parent signature.  Please ensure that homework is done daily and returned to school the next school day.

Family Journal:

Family Journals is a wonderful way of extending your communication with your child and a great way of being involved in what your child is learning.  On Fridays, students write a letter to their family about what they have learned during the past week.  Students can also add any personal thoughts or questions that they want their family to respond to.
Please take the time to read your child's letter in their family journal.  After reading, please write a letter back to your child.  Students enjoy hearing their letters read in front of the class!

Special Projects:

Throughout the year students will be required to complete several projects at home.  These projects should be FUN, creative, and original.  Students are given several weeks to complete these projects.  Please make sure that you work with your child and encourage the importance of reading.
