Computer Lab Ground Rules

Not Allowed

  1. Violating school rules
  2. Food, gum or drink - no exceptions
  3. Games or game sites; downloading/installing of any games/software applications, in any form, without instructor's permission.
  4. Hacking, or exploring, checking out, investigating any account other than your own.
  5. Use of any software during class other than applications currently being used in class.
  6. Use of Internet to access inappropriate, restricted or illegal information, graphics and/or sites.
  7. Modifying of any setting, control panel, extension, drive name.
  8. Use of inappropriate language - profane, racial or sexually offensive.
  9. Use of your own disks or usb/flash drive without instructor's permission.
  10. Talking while others are instructing and/or presenting.

Allowed

  1. Positive attitude - desire to learn - willingness to work on improving.
  2. Respect peers/instructors - expect to be treated as you treat others.
  3. Quality, creative, innovative and intelligent classroom effort.
  4. Web designers and computer programmers are problem solvers - what have you done to solve your own problem?
    1. Try every option you are aware of first.
    2. Check with online help, tutorials and texts.
    3. Check with classmates...they may have already solved it.
    4. Ask your instructor.

Doing only what is asked is the minimum,
Minimal effort produces minimal results,
"Successful" people do more than is expected.
