I welcome you to our web site. John Burroughs High School has a reputation for academic excellence. Our school has a score of 768 on the Academic Performance Index and has exceeded its API goal for seven consecutive years. Our belief simply put is that all students are capable of learning. Our entire campus is a high tech, user friendly facility that seeks to meet the demands of our students as we prepare them for success in high school and beyond.
In reviewing our academic performance there are several key indicators which demonstrate our high academic standards. Let's examine these points of success:

· 91% Pass rate on the math portion of the CAHSEE
· 92% Pass rate on the English portion of the CAHSEE

Burroughs High is a comprehensive high school, which offers programs for all students. There is an extensive performing arts program, which includes vocal and instrumental music, dance and drama. In the area of practical arts we have aircraft/small engines, culinary arts, photography, studio art and video production. There is a renowned athletic program offering a wide range of opportunities for students to excel.
