| Welcome to my webpage! I am looking forward to a great trimester with my 6th grade Science and Social Studies classes! In the Science classroom the students have just finished using the erosion boxes to observe the effects running water has on earth materials/earth's surface. They had the opportunity to design their own experiments and use materials of their choice. This was fun and full of learning for all! Next, we are studying plate tectonics, during which students will be studying layers of the Earth, continental drift, and the various boundaries underneath Earth's surface. We will be partaking in a little snack tectonic action as well! In Social Studies, we are currently studying all about ancient China and the cultures that lived there. The Silk Road was the route that connected the East with the West in ancient times, and currently we are learning about China's negotiations with the Romans to trade Chinese silk for Roman blown glass. The kids have had some awesome insights and are making connections to advancements in technology and trade. Please check back again soon! Note: It is essential that you bring all supplies with you everyday! Please remember your textbook, agenda, spiral notebook, pencils, scissors, gluestick, color pencils, white out, pencil sharpener, and any other materials you need. It is your job to remember all supplies daily! |
