I am writing this letter to inform you and to remind the students about the spelling rules for class work and homework.

The following rules must be followed when doing the spelling assignments in order to receive a grade:

1.     All papers must have proper heading.

2.     You need to number your definitions, sentences and ABC order.

3.      Sentences must start with a capital letter and proper punctuation must be used at all times.

4.     All sentences must start with a different word.

5.     Spelling words must be underlined with a colored pencil (any color) and a ruler must be used to underline.

6.      Neatness is a must at all times!

Please discuss these rules with your son/daughter.

Dear 5^th Grade Parents:

I am writing to you so you can help me at home with math homework.

Please make sure that your son/daughter is doing the following:

ü     Proper heading on all of the assignments, which includes the date.

ü     All work must be done on graph paper and NEATLY!

ü     Work needs to be labeled class work and/or homework.

ü     All work needs to be shown on how the math problem was worked out, even if it can be done mentally unless otherwise indicated by the teacher.

ü     The answers must be circled in green.

ü     All work must be done in pencil.

ü     If the child did not understand mathematical problem he/she must let me know first thing in the morning (before math class, which is at 10:45 AM).

All these things must be done in order to receive a grade for the work.

Please discuss these requirements with you son/daughter.
