           I am looking forward to an exciting and fun filled year with your sixth grader in Room 16!  For those families that I already know, I could not be more eager to be working with you again.  Likewise, for the families that I am just getting acquainted with, I am enthusiastically awaiting getting to know you all better and to work with you this year.  We have many exciting plans for sixth grade at Monte Vista, and I cannot wait to dive in and get started!

This will be my fourth year teaching in West Covina Unified School District.  I taught fourth grade at Monte Vista for two years, and I taught a first/second grade combination at Orangewood Elementary last year.  I am excited and proud to be back at Monte Vista this year for sixth grade!  I graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Education.  I hold a Master in Education degree with an emphasis in Teaching through Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.  I also hold a Professional Clear Multiple Subject teaching credential through the state of California.  Recently, I earned a certificate in G.A.T.E. education through California State University at Fullerton; which certifies me to differentially teach students designated as gifted.  Please feel free to contact me through the school office or through email.

I am very excited to be working with you and your sixth grader this year.  It is my intention to not only help your child “master” the skills that they need to know before moving on to junior high school, but also to help them enjoy the process of successful learning.  I have no doubt that if we work together throughout the whole year, we will meet not only the district and state standards, but our own personal goals as well.  I look forward to meeting you personally and getting to know your child better this year.
